8 Medals with one Gold for India in Asian Youth Chess Championship 2024

Narayani, Mani, Pratitee, Nakshtra, Aaradhya, Siddhanth, Ragavesh and Harsh got medals in the Asian Youth Chess championship in Almaty (Kazakhstan).

In the Under-8 Girls category Narayani 7.5 Points won the Gold Medal even after losing her game in the last and final round 9 with Kim Leyla 6.5 Points of Kazakhstan. Narayani repeated her opening which she played in 7^th round and her opponent was well prepared against it and won easily in 35 moves. Narayani was a little lucky because Nakshtra 6.5 won with Black pieces against Iranian Asena Golizadeh 7 points. Nakshtra G secured 3^rd position with a bronze medal.

In the Under-8 Open Category Mani Sarbartho 7 Points won his game with white pieces against Md Taha of Iran and secured silver medal.

In the Under-10 Girls, Aaradhya Das 6.5 won her game against Milana Filippova 5 points of Kazakhstan and secured the bronze medal.

In the under-12 Girls, Pratitee Bordoloi 7.5 drew her game in a difficult position and secured silver medal due to her bad tie break.

In the London system P Siddhanth 7 Points won his Indian opponent Aadik T L 6.5 Points in under-12 open category and secured bronze medal.

In the Under-16 Open V Ragavesh 6.5 points played very well in the tournament and secured 3^rd place with a bronze medal after winning his last round against Kiriil Gusev of Russia.

In the Under-18 open category, IM Harsh Suresh 6.5 won a crucial game on top with half points leader Eldiar Orozbaev 6.5 Points of Kyrgyzstan and secured the bronze medal.
