Railways ‘A’ triumphs with a round to spare

Bhopal (07 Feb 17) :- Railway ‘A’ team has impressed everyone with their astonishing performance in the national team championship and sealed the title with a clean sweep over Karnataka in the penultimate round. This victory enabled Railway ‘A’ to take their tally to unassailable sixteen match points and it will be an inconsequential final round game for railway men against Madhya Pradesh ‘B’ on Wednesday morning.

Viyugam Chess Academy maintained their sole second spot with thirteen match points after 3 -1 victory over Kerala in the eighth round. They will takes on top seed Airports Authority of India in the final round. AAI defeated Andhra Bank 4 – 0 and moved to sole third spot with twelve points. Air India, Railway ‘B’ and Tamilnadu ‘A’ are at joint fourth spot with eleven points.

Meanwhile Airports Authority of India joined top seed and overnight sole leaders Air India with ten match points after defeating Tamilnadu in the sixth round. Air India settled for a peace treaty against Bengal in the penultimate round. Madhya Pradesh ‘A’ defeated Gujarat in the sixth round encounter and sharing the joint third spot along with LIC and Bengal.
