Final Report of Senior National Arbiter Seminar & Examination held in Bathinda on 15 & 16 August 2025

The Bathinda District Chess Association, on behalf of the Punjab State Chess Association, the All India Chess Federation, and the AICF Arbiters’ Commission, successfully organized a Senior National Arbiter Seminar & Examination at Hotel Royalista, Near Shiv Mandir, Railway Road, Bathinda, on 15th & 16th August 2025.

A total of 40 participants registered for the seminar, representing Chandigarh, Delhi, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh. The seminar was conducted by IA Vasanth B H, who served as the lecturer.

The inaugural session was graced by Mr. Ankush Kathuria, President of the Punjab State Chess Association, who extended a warm welcome to all participants and dignitaries. In his address, he emphasized the importance of arbiters in the chess ecosystem and encouraged participants to uphold integrity, fairness, and professionalism in their future roles.

On 15th August, India’s Independence Day, Mr. Dinesh Goyal, Secretary of the Bathinda District Chess Association, conveyed his greetings and best wishes to the participants. He expressed confidence that the seminar would contribute to the growth of skilled arbiters across the country.

During the two-day program, IA Vasanth B H covered a wide range of topics, including: Laws of Chess, Tie-break Regulations, Rating Regulations, Swiss Pairing System, Arbiter Regulations, Anti-Cheating Regulations, Standards of Chess Equipment, Competition Rules, Fundamentals of Title Regulations

Following the seminar, 39 participants appeared for the examination. Among them, the following candidates successfully qualified for the Senior National Arbiter (SNA) Title and the FIDE National Arbiter (NA) License:

All the participants awarded with SNA title are required to be registered with AICF as Arbiter as well as get their FIDE NA License prior to officiating in any FIDE rated event.  They must be licensed before officiating in any FIDE Rated event or attending FIDE Arbiter Seminar.  To get NA License please pay an amount of Rs. 3370/- at https://prs.aicf.in/pay and intimate the details (Name, FIDE ID and Screenshot of payment) by email to  aicf.acct@gmail.com cc to indianchessfed@gmail.com 

**All other participants shall be eligible for NA title and eligible to officiate all events except FIDE rated ones.**
