Grandmaster M R Lalith Babu of India defeated GM Ter-Sahakyan Samvel of Armenia and moved into shared lead with 4.5 points, after the fifth round of the Chennai Grandmaster International Open Chess tournament held in celebration of the FIDE World Championship Match 2013 at Nehru Stadium, Chennai here today.

Sharing the lead at 4.5 points along with Lalith Babu were GM Vidit Santosh Gujrathi (India) and IM Mozharov Mikhail (Russia) among others.
