Samvel Ter Sahakyan wins Goa GM Open 2019

Manuel Petrosyan of Armenia went into the last round with a half point lead but had to settle for a draw in the tenth and final round. This allowed the defending champion Idani Pouya of Iran and Samvel Ter Sahakyan of Armenia to win their respective games and catch up with Petrosyan.

Samvel, with his better tiebreak managed to win the first place, edging out his compatriot Petrosyan who had to settle for the second place. Iran’s Pouya took the third place. Check the final standings here.
