Vidit drew the first game of his Quarterfinal matchup against Polish No:1, and World No:18 Jan-Krzysztof Duda with the White pieces. Vidit couldn’t get much out of the Catalan opening and his opponent equalized early on. Vidit tried to create some pressure but Duda neutralized it very well concretely and didn’t let Vidit make any inroads.

Vidit will be Black in game two at 5:30 PM IST on Thursday
