Round 4 report of World Youth Chess Championship, Italy 2023

U18 Open:

IM ILAMPARTHI continues his impressive run with a draw against the top seed and high-rated Russian Grand Master A R MURZIN, Volodar, and presently is on 3.5 points.

Mayak Chakraborty after drawing his game with white pieces in Sicilian Alapin variation is on 2.5 points. International Master PRANEETH, Vuppala suffered his second loss in the tournament against FM Simon Rybka of Slovakia and is on 2 points along with another Indian participant MANISH, Anto Cristiano who also faced his second defeat with black pieces.

U16 Open:

ADIREDDY, Arjun suffered a loss and is on 2.5 points along with other fellow Indians Harsh Suresh, S.Rohit, and S.Aswath

 U14 Open:

After drawing his match on the fourth round DAKSHIN, Arun is on 3.5 points.

BHARADIA, Yash and DAAEVIK, Wadhawan are on 3 points. Dhruv Thota is on 2.5 points.

U-14 Girls:

Sachi Jain (2.5/3) had a winning position against higher rated opponent  WFM Kaliakhmet Elmaz (KAZ) . Miscalculation in time pressure led the tables turn around and later she blundered Queen and lost.

Sneha – 3 points, Saparya Ghosh and Aswinika Mani 2.5 points each.

U-16 Girls

Twjaswini G and Shubhi Gupta – 3 points each.

Kheerti Ganta and Pragnya HG -2.5 points each. Kanishka S -2 points and Amulya G -0.5 points.

U-18 Girls

Bhagyashree Patil – 3 points. Swara Lakshmi Nair and Sasvatha A – 2 points each. Keerti Shree Reddy -1.5 points
